Facilities

Accommodation

All student rooms are comfortable single study/bedrooms.  While we have a few double rooms these rooms tend to be given to family members both residing at the College at the same time.  The rooms are fully equipped and this includes telephone and Internet access in each room. Rooms are serviced once a week. Students provide and launder their own linen in one of the College's two fully automatic coin operated laundromats.

Dining
Students are provided with three meals each day. These provide good quality, nutritious foods with a very good choice of meats, salads and vegetarian options.  If you know that you will not be able to be at College for a meal (eg. due to a lecture) you can arrange beforehand for the kitchen to put a meal aside for you.  See an example of a weekly menu.

Chapel
While affiliated with the Uniting Church, the College welcomes members of all religions to its multi-faith community. The Christian Community Fellowship meets regularly in the Chapel and groups from other faiths are welcome to use the facility.

It is viewed as an adaptable place, often used for musical performances, as a meeting room, as a place to study and as the Administrative Centre for Conferences.

Common Rooms

There are larger common rooms in which you can relax and watch television, and where you can also play pool and table tennis; this is where many College and inter-college events take place.  From Sunday to Thursday during term a light supper is served in the main common room at 10:00 p.m.

There are also small common areas located throughout the buildings serving as local catch up and relax points.  These smaller areas contain facilities for having a snack and are also equipped with space for watching television or playing a board game.

Library and IT
In addition to our computing and internet facilities our library boasts an impressive collection of contemporary reference and text books.  Our librarian ensures that residents have the books they need to pursue their studies.  The library also stocks board games and recreational fiction.

Music
Lincoln College has a strong tradition of musical excellence.  Many of our students are accomplished musicians for whom music is an important cultural and social outlet.

There are several music practice rooms, including two new ones, two upright practice pianos and a baby grand in the College dining room.  Music Night is a highlight of the College Calendar and there are many other opportunities for students to display their musical talents throughout the year.

Recreation
On site recreational facilities provided by the College Club include TV rooms, table tennis, pool table, and a well maintained weights room.  Members of the College have access to the College’s gymnasium, the University of Adelaide tennis courts, basketball courts, playing fields and other recreational facilities.

The Adelaide Aquatic Centre is within easy walking distance as is Linear Park which has sealed paths for walking/running and cycling. The College takes part in inter-collegial sports and takes great pride in competing in swimming, table tennis, Australian rules football.

An active member of SAAUCC (the South Australian Association of University College Clubs) we compete in a variety of sports and enjoy catching up with our fellow Adelaide collegians!
