Frank Hambly Memorial Scholarship
The Frank Hambly Memorial Scholarships were established to commemorate the service to Lincoln College of the Reverend William Frank Hambly, M.A., D.D., Master of the College from its inception in 1952 to his death in 1972. The two scholarships are awarded to recognise and encourage academic excellence.
Jubilee ScholarshipThe Jubilee Scholarship was instituted by the Council of the College to celebrate 50 years of continuous service to university students in South Australia since the opening of the College by the Methodist Church in 1952. The award has been made possible by the generosity of past collegians who have contributed to a Jubilee Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship is intended to reward all-round performance in terms of academic achievement and contribution to the community life of the College.
Andrew Smith ScholarshipAndrew Smith was a resident student at Lincoln College from 1958-1963, and graduated M.B., from the University of Adelaide. He joined the Lincoln College Council in 1973, served as Secretary of the Council in 1976 and became Chairman in 1978, a position from which he retired in 1985. In 1986 he was made a life member of Lincoln College. His association with the College is honoured in the establishment of this scholarship.
Jane Smith ScholarshipNamed after the wife of alumnus Dr Andrew Smith the Jane Smith Scholarship will be awarded annually to an outstanding resident Lincolnite who contributes consistently to collegiate life whilst maintaining a good academic record at University. Dr Jane Smith has been a great supporter of the Lincoln College community and we are delighted to offer a scholarship in her honour.
Colombo Spirit Scholarship
This scholarship, is to be awarded annually to a resident who embodies the wonderful spirit of the many Colombo Scholars who have made such an important contribution to Australian culture and to their home culture. In particular the focus is on community building, anti-discrimination, cultural diversity and friendship, all within a solid academic framework. This scholarship is not only a symbolic gesture of intercultural respect, it is a practical way to support residents who will make a positive change in the world, in the way that many Colombo scholars have done.
Henderson Country Student Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually as a full-year full-fee paying scholarship. The Henderson County Student Scholarhsip requires the recipient to meet the financial need criterion (a hurdle criterion), whilst exemplifying the notion of “good character”, academic competency and contribution to community life. Benefactor Ben Henderson's intention was to give others a chance to succeed and to “do good” in the world.
Bursaries
Lincoln College aims to provide opportunity for all of its residents. Lincoln offers three
entrance bursaries, each for one year. If assistance beyond one year is required residents may apply for a continuing College bursary.
